![]() Alice Medrich Writer and Pastry Chef Member since 2007Cookbook author, pastry chef and instructor, Alice Medrich is one of the country's foremost experts in chocolate. She founded the landmark company, Cocolat, in Berkeley in 1976 and is credited with raising the standards of chocolate desserts and confections ever since. She is the award-winning author of numerous chocolate cookbooks, including Cocolat, Bittersweet, Chocolate Holidays and Pure Dessert. Alice appeared on the Food Network in the "Chef de Jour" and "Baker's Dozen" series, and was a featured chef on Julia Child's PBS Television series, "Baking with Julia" and with Joan Nathan in "Jewish Cooking in America." Alice consults in the baking and chocolate industry and teaches in cooking schools across the country. |
