She is the former host of "Melting Pot" on the Food Network, and has recently opened her long-awaited dream restaurant in West Oakland, Brown Sugar Kitchen. Here she combines her French-based culinary skills from her training at France’s noted La Varenne cooking school with her intimate knowledge of Soul Food. Tanya has found an ideal location to serve the growing West Oakland community and soul food lovers from around the Bay Area. In a modernized art deco space, Tanya serves breakfast and lunch soul food favorites, freshen up with seasonal produce and unique touches. |
